Course Overview
Now that I Have Registered, What Do I Do?
There are many reasons why you may have registered for a distance learning course, but one thing for sure at Richland College: you NEVER have to feel you are alone. Here are some steps to help prepare you for this unique course experience.
Once you have registered:
- Follow the directions on your fee receipt or in the course schedule
- Log on to eCampus. http://ecampus.dcccd.edu
- Find out, according to directions on your fee receipt, if you have to attend on on-campus orientation
- Follow the directions your instructor has posted on your eCampus site
- Get any necessary materials (textbooks)
First week of class:
- Log on to eCampus. http://ecampus.dcccd.edu
- Get familiar with your course by navigating the course web page
- Email your instructor if you have questions or concerns
- Add/drop if mode of instruction is not right for you
While the course is in session:
- Keep in contact with your instructor via email or phone
- Stay up-to-date with your assignments
- Build community with other Internet students through email or group discussions
- Check your grades regularly and email instructor if you have any questions
- Maintain steady progress - don't disappear for a week and then reappear with an "I'm sorry" email. Prepare and think ahead
- Use technical support
- Manage your time
End of the course:
- Complete all course work
- Check your final grade in eConnect
- Email your instructor any concerns or questions
